Urethane Casting is a fast, cost-effective prototyping method for producing a small number of highly accurate and detailed polyurethane prototype parts.

Urethane Casting reproduces components in a wide range of polyurethane resins to simulate production materials. This technology not only allows for a wide range of surface finishes and colours, but can also be drilled, tapped, insert moulded and over moulded on request.

Urethane Casting enables us to produce high-quality prototypes and quickly manufacture short-run production components in the right material for our customers.

Process

  • Small number of parts are made with an SLA master mold made of silicon rubber
  • Casting is made by pouring resin into the mold
  • Time to manufacture depends on desired characteristics of the part, with size being a key factor
  • Results in bubble free casting; ideal for highly accurate, functional plastic prototype parts in very fine detail which replicate patterns, dimensions, profiles and textures
